Even the respected "Rough Guide" travel book for Thailand tells you "...but if you want deluxe rooms you should consider staying either at the Pailyn Hotel on the road to Old Sukhothai or in Phitsanuloke." (Pailyn has a sister hotel there too). This is a quality hotel amid what seems an otherwise lacklustre accommodation region for Thailand! Incredible, is it not, that the birthplace of the Thai nation has a limited number of quality hotel rooms! So, if you are off to this area to see the sites (what true cultural tour of Thailand would be complete without a stop here?!), or for business. Make your reservation as soon as you can. Because this is a very popular / busy hotel, especially with the Thai people themselves (who know about culture, quality and bargains).
