  Samui Euphoria is one of the most established hotels on the island, reportedly the first quality resort. Of course, every hotel will tell you that they have the best stretch of beach. But isn't it logical that the "First came, were the first served"?!   But being established has not meant the Euphoria "resting on its laurels" - oh no! Apart from the ongoing refurbishment program they, and every quality hotel has, the design of this hotel is still remarkably good by anyone's standards. Raised above, but overlooking the beach, is the pool area. And what a pool, with its own little palm shaded semi-island, and the attention of the waiting staff working from the poolside bar and restaurant ("Another daiquiri dear?!").    Now the pool bar, as you would hope / expect, plays totally tropical music to add to the moment. But, if you prefer a little more tranquillity (and a little less tango), then the beach area of the hotel is definitely for you. Down from the pool area, you can hardly hear Kid Creol and his Coconuts. Yet you don't lose out from personal attention either, as there is a beach bar too! What is more, you can choose between frying on an exposed sun lounger, or taking refuge and baking a little less under one of the hotel's beach gazebo's!   Of course, is the water & sun is really too much for you, then you can relax further back into the grounds near the pond, or perhaps in the restaurant / cafe terrace areas - perfect! Around here, you will also find the dive centre, the tour desk (a trip to the islands is a must!) and a very good tailor's shop for those "Guess how much I bought this suit for?!" games back home! And finally, the author of this web-site (that's me, Mark Austin), can honestly testify that one of the dishes I had the one evening I ate at the Euphoria, was one of the finest (Thai) chicken dishes I have ever tasted in a resort hotel. Also, the buffet breakfasts, especially when eaten in the restaurant's terrace area (it does make the food taste better!) are exceptional for this standard of hotel. |
