What a truly great beach-front hotel on what is undoubtedly one of the finest beaches in the world. The view, the grounds, the (fresh sea) food, the local water activities, the quality of this hotel - Oh my! Recommend this hotel? We would quite happily live there on a permanent basis - how's that?! The Cheweng Resort does get fully booked though (and quite rightly), so don't delay with that reservation.

Oh yes, although all the rooms here are great, some have much better positions and enjoy much more seclusion / tranquillity than others. And because this is a direct reservations service, once you have made your reservation through our system, you will be in direct contact with the hotelier themselves to finalise details. So all you have to do, after you have made your reservation request using our (my) reservation form, is simply send me an e-mail here, ask me which are the best rooms, and I will tell you by name (number). Mark's Tip Don't book the more expensive beach view bungalows! Why? Although they are larger and have big balconies, the view is of the row of sun-loungers, and are therefore not too private and prone to a bit of noise! Which means you may not be that disposed to spending too much time on the very thing you spent extra for in the first place! Also, because there are so few beach view bungalows, they are normally always full (because people automatically associate them / the more expensive bungalows as being the best!). The trouble with this is that the management have not been able to update the bathrooms. Consequently, it is the view of this service that the beach view bathrooms are the least attractive / modern in the hotel! Compared with the recently refurbished (to a very high standard) Superior Bungalow bathrooms, they are of very poor quality. All the bedrooms are basically to the same high standard, it's really just the room size that distinguishes them from each other (plus the wonderful bathrooms in the Superior rooms) (Information compiled June 2000 and is the sole opinion of this web-site's author, Mark Austin).
