This hotel won the "Best Tourist Accommodation In Northern Thailand Award" from the Tourism Authority of Thailand. But in our opinion, when you balance the hotel, its location and staff, Le Meridien Baan Boran should have won a medal. It really is that good. This area's name conjures up images of poppy fields and drugs barons, but that is in the past. If you were to visit this hotel and area now, you will absolutely have your breath taken away from you, by the sheer beauty of this place and the wonderful people (both staff and locals). The operators of this web-site get to stay at many truly first-class hotels. But if you ask us which inland hotel is our all-time favorite. Considering location, quality, standards, genuine staff friendliness / helpfulness, local people, restaurant food and area resources (tour opportunities, shopping etc.).
