Undoubtedly the best luxury class option in town. This is what the respected, although inappropriately named travel book "The Rough Guide" says - "Grand international-class hotel conveniently placed on the south side of town; within walking distance of the night bazaar, but far enough removed to get some peace and quiet." There really is so little choice for true hotel luxury and relative position in this regional capital. Which is just as well that The Empress is so fine and available at the above low prices (these represent around 40% discount). So, if you want to sample the rustic delights of the North, but want to do so from the lap of luxury and without breaking the bank, don't leave that reservation for too long. This may be a large hotel, but it is extremely popular, and for the best possible reasons.
