Near our resort, there are many excellent dive sites, each with their own unique attractions. The best are probably; Koh Ngam Noi, Koh Ngam Yai, Hin Lak Ngam, Hin Pae. You can admire numerous varities of coral reef and exotic fish and have an unforgettable experience.

Our diving school is a most professional institution, where you are able to train under the very best conditions / supervision and with only the best modern equipment. Chumphon Cabana Diving Center is renowned within Thailand and was established in 1986.

The dive pool is ideal for diving courses. With a 3m depth, 25m length and 12.5m width - a perfect place to enjoy dive training in safe hands.

Choose from the following day-trip destinations / attractions;

Namtok Kapo Forest Park. The park is located in the area of Amphoe Tha sae, 30kms. north of Chumphon town along Highway No.4. It has a pleasant atmosphere of cook forest suitable for relaxation with a small waterfall.

Hat Sai Ri. This famous and scenic beach of Chumphon, located 15 kms. Southeast of the township, can be reached via Route Nos. 4119 and 4098. To the north of the beach, there is the memorial site of H.R.H. Prince Chumphon, Father of the Royal Thai Navy, extremely revered by all seamen. The compound housed a shrine, a huge torgego boat named the Royal Chumphon and herbal garden.

Enroute to Hat Sai Ri, there is a small road parallel to some palm-fringed beaches such as Hat Pharadonphap and Hat Pha Daeng where some seafood restaurants are situated.

Koh Maephrao. This is a small island full of swallow's nest located 1 km. from Hat Sai Ri and can be clearly seen from the shore.

Ao Thung Makham. This scenic bay looks like a line of 2 semi-circles and is full of coconut plantations. It is located 6 kms. beyond Hat Sai Ri.

Pak Nam Chumphon is the mouth of the Tha Taphao River where a large fishing village is situated. The estuary is located 13 kms. from town and be reached via Route Nos. 4001 and 4119.

On the bank of the Tha Taphao River, there are a few landings where boats depart regularly to Koh Tao. Koh Tao is a remote island famous for beautiful scenery and coral reefs, and can be reached from Chumphon within 6 hours by normal boat or 2 and a half hours by speedboat.

In addition, there are some offshore islands, which can be visited by fishing boat. These include:

Koh Samet. This has the same name of the famous island in Rayong. It is a small island which can be reached within 30 minutes from the Chumphon Estuary.

Koh Mattra. This is a large island with sandy beach. Spectacular rocks are seen in the west and south of the island. There is a coral reef on the west coast, and rare crabs called Pu Kai, which can climb up trees and cry like a chick, can be seen here. Small bungalows are available.

Koh Tharu. A picturesque stone island measuring 100 metres long has two large holes through which one can swim from one side to the other. Nearby areas are full of corals and varieties of marine flowers.

Other coral islands include Koh Rat, located to the south of Chumphon, and Koh Thonglang.

The hotel itself is located on Ao / Hat Thung Wua Laem beach, recognised as the most beautiful of Chumphon - a long and sandy shore with a slight slope, ideal for swimming.

Day 1
Early morning departure for a join-in full day SCUBA diving / snorkelling trip to Koh Ngam Yai and Koh Ngam Noi - overnight at Chumphon Cabana Resort.

Day 2
Half day of leisure, sun bathing, etc. Afternoon - sightseeing at Rub Ro Caves and feeding dusky leave monkeys. Overnight at Chumphon Cabana Resort.

Day 3
Early morning departure from Chumphon jetty for Koh Tao / Koh Nang Yuan (boat trip takes about 1hr 30min). Rest of the day - leisure! Overnight in Koh Tao.

Day 4
Full day of leisure to enjoy this beautiful island. There are plenty of small local restaurants serving fresh BBQ seafood and Thai dishes.

Day 5
Boat transfer from Koh Tao to Koh Samui. Arrive in time for a great island sightseeing tour.

Day 6
Early morning departure for a join-in full day trip to Ang Thong National Park.

Day 7
Half day of leisure, diving or sunbathing. In the afternoon, transfer to Samui Airport to fly to Phuket for a "city" tour. Plus a boat trip to Naga Noi island pearl farm. Swimming or snorkelling is also possible.

Day 8
One hour boat trip to a remote island with sea caves, where it is actually possible to venture into a cave aboard a canoe. In the afternoon, snorkelling, swimming or paddling a canoe. Return to Phuket.

Day 9
Transfer to Phuket Airport and then to..........??!

Nearby, you can also find;

Koh Chorake. This small island with a stony beach and a coral reef is situated about 11 kms from the hotel.

Koh Ngam Noi and Ko Ngam Yai. The surrounding areas of these two adjacent stone islands are suitable for diving . These are also the islands of swallows' nest, situated 17 kms. from our own shore.

Tham Khao Khun Krathing. This cave is located 12 kms south fo Chumphon along the road to Amphoe Lang Suang ( Highway no. 41). Prehistoric paintings of geometrical signs are found on the cliff near the mouth of the cave, 25 metres above the ground.

Tham Khao Ngon. This cave is located by a stream in the same area as Somdet Phra Srinakarin Park, 7 kms. west of Amphoe Lang Suan. The inside of the cave looks like a large hall and houses the inscription of King Rama V's initials.

Tham Khao Kriap. One of the most beautiful caves, located 85 kms. south of Chumphon along Highway No. 4 and 6 kms along an access road. The cave is full of stalactites and stalagmites A temple is situated at the foot of the Khao Kriap Hill from which 370 steps lead to the mouth of the cave.

Hat Arunothai. This 6 kms. long, palm-fringed beach in Amphoe Thung Tako is situated 60 kms from Chumphon along Highway No. 4. on the beach , there is the shrine of H.R.H Prine Chumphon, the Father of the Royal Thai Navy and a resort where visitors can hire a boat to explore some islands such as Koh Khram and Koh Raobanthat.

Namtok Heo Lom. This huge waterfall in the area of Amphoe Pha To is situated 16 kms. from the district along the Pha To-Rachakurt route ( Route No. 4006), then turn left and continue for another 6 kms. The waterfall consists of two levels. The stream flows into a rock pool before winding through Amphore Pha To to the Lang Suan River. Rafting along the stream to Kaeng Bok Fai (rapids) is possible only from November to February . The raft trip takes about 2 hours.

ANNUAL FESTIVALS IN CHUMPHON

Lang Suan Fruit Festival. It is held annually around August. Its main objective is to promote agricultural products, especially Orchard Product of Lang Suan District. Major events: Fruit competitions, Fruit Fair, Flower car competition and Fruit Maiden Pageant.

Buddha Effigy procession and Boat Race in Lang Suan District. A tradition of Lang Suan District which is over a 100 years old. It is believed that on the 1st night of the waning moon in the 11th month the Lord Buddha returns to Sungkassa in India from heaven. Many Buddhists therefore go to receive him. The most convenient of journey during that time was by boat. Therefore, the people had a chance for a social gathering. Later it became a Buddha procession and a boat race. These events take place on the 1st night of the waning moon in the 11th month (around August) of every year. They last for about 5 days. The major activities are a Buddha Effigy Boat procession (many majestically adorned temple boats in) and a boat race in Lang Suan River.

Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak Commemoration. This event takes place near city Hall around 19-25th December every year. The aim is to commemorate the Admiral Phra Chao Borommawongthir Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak, the person who is highly revered by people in Chumphon, he is also the father of the Royal Thai Navy. The main activities and Krom Luang Chumphon khet Udomsak Exhibition, Southern Art Exhibition and acting at night time.

Chumphon's Marine Festival. It takes place during the Middle of March a nd April every year. The aim is to promote Chumphon tourism-in order to distribute incomes among the local people, conserve natural resources, Main events : Angling competition , Tourism Photo Competition, Tourism Exhibition and Mini-Marathon.
